My name is Ian Starr and I am the owner and head Jiu-Jitsu instructor here at Front Range BJJ. I came to Colorado over 9 years ago to study Aikido with Hiroshi Ikeda shihan of Boulder Aikikai. I am a black belt under Ikeda sensei and subsequently went on to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Amal Easton of Easton BJJ. I received my purple belt under Professor Easton and am currently an Affiliate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor under Mr. Roy Harris. I am also a Level 1 Certified CrossFit Trainer. I opened Front Range Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to bring BJJ and CrossFit to the community of Littleton and beyond!
See you on the mat!
Coach Andres Hermida
"Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Andres started competing in judo at the age of 7. After dedicating himself to Enduro Racing in the Dominican Republic, Andres rediscovered his passion for martial arts at Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, Florida. There he started the Eckerd College Judo Club with instructors Gediminas Palkanis and Robert Cockey whom he got his brown belt from. Upon graduation with a degree in International Business, Marketing, and Management Andres moved to Colorado in order to dedicate himself to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo."
